Congratulations to Andy Lambert and Gannet Hallar for their recent publication titled “Dust Impacts of Rapid Agricultural Expansion on the Great Plains”. By using remote sensing measurements and aerosol monitoring networks including IMPROVE and AERONET, the article dives into the long-term trends observed in the Great Plains region of the US finding a 5% annual increase of aerosol optical depth which is directly related to the expansion of agriculture.
